Dan was aged 20 when he died from the brain infection, encephilitis, on May 30th this year. Dan would have been 21 on 10th July. Dan worked in a care home as a trainee cook and had ambitions to train to be a chef. Dan lived at home with me and his sister, Claire. Claire is 19.
Dan became suddenly ill in January, when he suffered a huge seizure, it took several days to find a cause and to this day, doctors are not sure that it was encehilitis. Dan was on a ventilator in intensive care for 18 weeks before he passed away.
Dan was a very sociable young man, with a huge group of very close friends. My house resembled a youth club. Dan was in to drum and bass music and had a set of decks in his room. Dan loved computer games, the family cats and looking after his mate's dog.
I am a single parent and life for Dan growing up was difficult, but he had turned his life around and was a lovely young man, with ambition and plans for his life. I am devastated by his death and will love and think about him every day of my life. My life will never be the same again, a part of me has gone. Love you soooooo much Danxxxxxxxx

How will heaven be?
As far as I can see

There colour as blue as sapphire can be
And the white waves lashing upon the shore
Sitting on the flattened grey rocks
Who would not call it absolutely heavenly?
However it might actually be,
But can we still not see
There will lie behind this seen
A relieving feeling of bliss
For where not have we been
But is this not by all believed
That after one’s decease
This is the land of eternal peace
Where we all ultimately reach?

Hi son, just wanted to let you know what a wonderful tribute Sunday was to you, all your friends and family there. The sun was shining and the drum and bass booming. Claire did a fantastic job, organising the event and I am sure you would be proud of her, as I am.
